Today I went to a new deli called the Metro Market on 5th, in the North Loop neighborhood of downtown Minneapolis. They have a lunch bar with salad, soup, and the entree of the day. Today's meal was Pot Roast with mashed potatoes. Now, its a self serve bar, so of course I loaded it on and had room for only a tiny blob of mashed potatoes. I got to the register, and after a nice chat with the owner, he rang me up. Their pricing scheme is a weight based one, so I was paying by the pound for my lunch. Turns out I had served myself 1.2 pounds of pot roast for lunch. Now, I know some of you are thinking "4 ounces is a serving of meat", and to you I say, step off. Why don't you try sitting in a chair all day and programming and then tell me you haven't worked up a hell of an appetite. But I digress, I meant to simply thank the world for such a beautiful lunch and profess my support for paying by the pound.

What does it cost to get yourself a 19.2 oz. Pot Roast sandwich in the North Loop these days?
6.25 a pound, so it was about 8 bucks.
